| Fifteen new species of Recent mammal
The Harrison Institute in collaboration with colleagues have described 34 new taxa. Of these, fifteen are new species, which include thirteen species of bat and two species of rodent. They are listed below in chronological order, with the most recently described listed first.
2011 - Hipposideros griffini (Griffin's leaf-nosed bat)
Type locality: Cat Ba National Park, Cat Ba Island, Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, 20˚48'N, 107˚01'E, (248 metres above sea
level).
Holotype specimen: IEBR-T.200809.12 in IEBR collection, Hanoi, Vietnam - adult male, in alcohol, skull removed.

1959 - Miniopterus griveaudi (Griveaud’s long-fingered bat)
Type locality: Grande Comore Island, Comoro Islands, Indian Ocean.

The taxon griveaudi was originally described as a subspecies in M. minor but was subsequently assigned to M. manavi by Peterson et al. (1995) and has recently been promoted to full species by Goodman et al. (2009). [PDF available]

Type locality: near Amariya, on the west bank of the Euphrates, south-west of Faluja, Iraq.
