Daosavanh recently completed his MSc at the Prince of Songkla University. Here, he is with his external supervisor, Dr Paul Bates.

Daosavanh is a volunteer at the National University of Laos. For his MSc at the Prince of Songkla University, he studied flying squirrel taxonomy.

He discovered a new species, the Laotian giant flying squirrel (Biswamoyopterus laoensis) in Lao PDR (see skull below).
