A global community of researchers
The Harrison Institute combines a small permanent team with an international network of Honorary Research Fellows, students and conservation partners. Based on shared values, friendship, and long-term partnerships, together they create a research community whose expertise and impact extend far beyond the size of the Institute itself.
Leadership
Paul Bates, Director
Leads the Institute's biodiversity research programme, international scientific collaborations and postgraduate mentoring.
Beatrix Lanzinger, Director of Community Conservation
Leads the Institute's community conservation programmes, education initiatives and partnerships with local communities.
An international network of researchers
The Harrison Institute's Honorary Research Fellows are established scientists who collaborate closely with the Institute through research, student supervision and scientific publications. Together they extend the Institute's expertise across a wide range of disciplines and countries, creating a research community that is far greater than its size alone would suggest. Learn more.

Developing future scientists
We are expanding opportunities for undergraduate, MSc and PhD students, particularly through our association with the University of Exeter. Students work alongside Institute staff and Honorary Research Fellows on ongoing research, gaining experience while contributing to scientific publications and conservation projects.
